Up for consideration is a fine old handcarved mask from Timor.. Timor lies at the Eastern end on the Lessor Sunda Island.  It represents the way of life and beliefs. Sometimes still used for the corn harvest. The patina on this mask is amazing.  Years of smoke  floating up to the mask generally held on poles near the rafters of a  primitive temple or home of someone special.Timor was a trading port for honey ,wax and slaves. Timor was caught between the Portuguese and the Dutch. This is a very special mask. Full of power and energy. Well thiught of and very well taken care of.
